"The Response Force Task Group was established as a high readiness, multi faceted maritime capability to respond to crisis events around the world"
More spin from MoD. This statement makes it sound like a new capability, when infact it is purely window dressing as the RN already had the Amphibious Ready Group. Less assets, fancy new name.
Little in the way of Surface to Surface capability, no air cover, soon to be no AEW. Nice one MoD.
It needs some Type 23's as part of the force for ASW and Harpoo SSM capability.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to charter a ferry if escape by sea is (eventually) needed? This shouldn't be a repeat of 2006...

An alternative is to get out via Turkey.

Danielle and Paul. How well you put it!
From my lifelong experience I would endeavour to suggest that something from an official document could read ....... "something cobbled together at short notice from whatever happens to be available (RFTG)" ..... The Falklands Task Group was obviously a precursor; but then we were in possession of contingency plans and the wherewithal to make it happen. Two of our valuable and much needed assets are in use in the Port of London and Weymouth Bay!!

Boat owners check your moorings, I see another dunkirk here where little boats went missing only to end up in France.
