david cameron takes uk trade mission to Brazil
Executives from major British defence companies have accompanied David Cameron on his trade boosting visit to Brazil, it has been reported.

The visit, which the Prime Minister said was about "British jobs, British growth and the British economy", was saw representatives of BAE Systems, Babcock, Thales, General Dynamic, MBDA and Serco join the delegation.

According to the Guardian Brazil is looking to purchase frigates, surface ships and an aircraft carrier.

A diplomatic source told the newspaper that Britain had a "close relationship" with Brazil on a "military to military" level.

We have had some army staff talks recently in London," said the source. The First Sea Lord visited here in July and we have very good talks navy to navy. We do the same with the RAF. That is growing, the links between the two armed forces."

Cameron, who opened a new JCB factory during the trip, said: "This visit is about British jobs, British growth and the British economy, because I want Britain to be tied up to the fastest growing economies on the planet. Brazil is now a top six economy and this visit is about safeguarding and creating 3,000 jobs back at home."

Mixed messages? Why then is he minded to accept the merger of BAE and EADS? Brazil wants an aircraft carrier too - is he planning to sell off the second QE? Cameron is just like Blair: slippery. At least the French bat for themselves and little wonder they succeed so many times.

I hope your both wrong, I really do, as we need both of them, but you just know that its going to happen, I wonder how much it would cost the Brazilians to convert one to CAT and TRAP?

Hopefully if they take an interest and perhaps purchase the Type 26 it will bring the unit price down for the Royal Navy, you never know we might get some more out of it. . . ever the optimist.

Which side has Brazil taken in the Argentines' claims on the Falklands? Have any UK ships been barred from docking at its ports?

Actually, one wonders whether - if the BAE/EADS deal goes ahead - Cameron or any other UK leader in future will be able to conduct these negotiations. Just imagine having to ask the French and Germans before we could go and meet the Brazilians. Well, we've seen that at work already with the Eurofighter in India, haven't we?

David Cameron wants to sell weapons to Brazil to divert the country from Argentina over the Malvinas. Pity, the more likely it is that Brazilians use English guns to fuck English soldiers in a war against England in defense of Latin American possession of the Malvinas.

Having worked with Argentinian Marines in Cyprus, they have got a long way to go before they are capable of F***ing themselves let alone British servicemen. In fact they are probably on a par with the Spanish Army . . .

Ok, maybe that the original name be Falkland Islands, but in Latin American those islands are known as Islas Malvinas, so yes there´s a place called Malvinas, in all Latin American maps.

Raul,
Is Brazil so easily led by Argentina?
If one of the South American countries ever bothered to look at history they would see that the Argentinian's never had a claim on the Falklands. That is a fact.

Argentina...delusion!
